Today I wanted to talk about a very important issue.
Right now I am on social media, and social media is an incredible invention that was initially designed for all of us to remain connected, share thoughts, keep in touch, and share news of things of relevancy.
However, through recent years, it has been shown to also cause very negative health effects, especially in our youth and teenagers of today.
It is known that large megatech giants such as Meta, Snapchat, and YouTube have used algorithms intentionally to create addiction amongst teenagers.
This could be through teenagers seeking validation through constant reminders of the “like” feature and so forth.
There has been significant harm, and some of this harm comes out in things such as body dysmorphia, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts, and the idea of self-harm.
This is crippling our youth, and it is a major, major issue.
